Children's Service

Suffolk Music Therapy Services is available to any school or service for children and young people in East Anglia.  Up to five sessions a day can be provided which can include a range of areas:

The music therapist may also be involved with other events in the school calendar, at the request of the school.  However, direct therapeutic work with the young people (individual or groupwork) should be the main priority of the therapist.  The music therapist will liaise with staff and parents/carers and provide information about the child receiving music therapy.  They will provide written reports for Annual Reviews and attend these meetings when possible.

In order to maximise the benefits of music therapy for the school or setting, it is recommended that a referral system is in place. This system will help to prioritise which young people may benefit most from music therapy.  Suffolk Music Therapy Services is the leading provider for music therapy in children and young people services for Suffolk.
